Looking for people to play disc golf with in Minnesota? A KPLeagues meetup is a scheduled time to meet other players, get a group together, and play a league round at a Twin Cities course. In disc golf, that group is called your “card.”

Come on your own, bring a friend, or bring your whole crew. Whether you’re new to the area or have played Minnesota courses for years, meetups give you a way to connect with the local disc golf community.

Find posted meetup times on the KPLeagues league schedule.

Friday Shorts at Noon: the original, world-famous meetup

Friday Shorts at Noon is the original, world-famous KPLeagues meetup. Short layouts, rotating courses, and a midday round with the league crowd make it a great excuse to get out and throw.

Bring your regular card or come meet some new players. Check the current listing for the course, layout, and meetup details before heading out. Last week’s course might not be this week’s course.

Find your Twin Cities disc golf community

Knowing where to play is one thing. Finding people who want to play when you do can take a little more effort.

Meetups bring Twin Cities disc golfers together around a shared plan: a course, a time, and a round to play. You might meet someone who lives nearby, discover a course you haven’t tried, or find a group that fits your schedule.

For players around Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding suburbs, a rotating meetup is also a reason to explore more of Minnesota’s disc golf courses. Come for one round and see who you meet. Your next regular card might start there.

More than just a round

We often have extra prizes at meetups, including CTP (closest-to-the-pin) prizes, the metal game, and random giveaways. The extras vary, so check the event details and announcements to see what’s planned.

You don’t have to be looking for a group to enjoy a meetup. Bring your friends, join the gathering, and see who else is out playing. The people you meet might become your cardmates for another round.

How meetups work with Flex Leagues

A Flex League gives you a window of time to play. A meetup gives players a shared time to gather within that window.

For example, an event might offer a 7 a.m.–7 p.m. flex window with a noon meetup. Join the noon gathering, or arrange your own card for another time within the posted window. You don’t have to attend the meetup to play the flex round.

For outdoor Singles and Cali flex rounds, your card needs at least three registered, paid league players. Some events use different card sizes, including putting and shotgun events. Check your event’s requirements in the listing and the How to Play guide.

Find a card or organize your own meetup

Use the KPLeagues Facebook group to find cardmates and see who’s planning to play.

You can also suggest your own meetup at a time that works for you and might work for other players. Include the event, course, date, proposed time, and how many players you already have. For a flex round, keep that time within the posted playing window.

A simple post is enough: “Anyone want to join us for Friday Shorts at noon? We have two players and are looking for a few more.”

Give people some notice. If you’re coming alone, making contact beforehand helps you know who to look for when you arrive.

Before you tee off

Check the event listing before heading out so you know where to gather, which layout to play, and when to meet. Register and pay before your round. If you’re new, the How to Play guide explains registration and scoring.
